Welcome to The Florida MIS Spine Institute
The Florida Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) Spine Institute* was created as the first and only comprehensive spinal treatment center offering advanced minimally invasive surgical treatment. MIS is the use of endoscopy, microscopic visualization, muscle sparing/splitting techniques, percutaneous instrumentation, and surgeon skill to minimize skin incisions and the injury to surrounding tissues.
Our surgeons are at the forefront of the minimally invasive field with the most MIS Spine case experience in North Florida as well as the longest history of MIS use. In 1998, our surgeons were the first in the state of Florida to perform an endoscopic thoracic discectomy, more recently, one of the few surgeons in the nation to have performed a four level MIS TLIF fusion. Our surgeons have also performed a minimally invasive laminoplasty of the cervical spine. Additionally, our surgeons are actively involved in the minimally invasive surgery industry with active consultation responsibilities. Our surgeons have designed, engineered and refined some of the leading minimally invasive implants currently on the market. In addition, they actively lecture and teach MIS techniques at courses and national meetings.
