Paulo Monteiro, MD
Paulo Monteiro, MD, is a graduate of the University of Rio de Janeiro. He had prior general surgery training in Michigan at a Wayne State University affiliate program in Detroit before entering the University of Maryland Neurosurgery Program where he completed his neurosurgery training.
His neurology exposure was at the National Hospital, Queen Square in London, England and at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He spent time in the University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland while in microsurgery training.
Dr. Monteiro is a diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. He was the Chief of Neurosurgery at St. Vincents Hospital from 1997-2003 and is presently the Chief of Neurosurgery at Baptist Medical Center.
